Pines Village Retirement Communities, Inc., announces the 2019-2020 recipients of the Margaret M. Rivers and Anne Lauterbach scholarship awards. The scholarship program was created to foster employee longevity and encourage employees to pursue their higher education goals. Through the generosity of our residents, their families, the Board of Directors and staff, over $260,000 in scholarships have been awarded to undergraduate and graduate student employees of Pines Village since 1996.
The Margaret M. Rivers Fund - created in honor of Midge Rivers, founding director of Pines Village Retirement Communities.
The Anne Lauterbach Fund - created in honor of the late Anne Lauterbach, an educator and a Pines Village resident.
Over $27,000 was awarded to the following 12 undergraduate student employees:
Emma Adams, employed in Dining Services for 2 years, will attend Ball State University, majoring in Visual Communications. Her parents are Jennifer & Joel Adams.
Danielle Angert, employed in Dining Services for 3 years, attends Purdue University majoring in Engineering. Her parents are Ginny & Don Angert.
Abigail Evans, employed in Home Health for 2.5 years, will attend Indiana University Northwest, majoring in Nursing. Her parents are Stanna & Bradley Evans.
Mary Johnson, employed in Dining Services for 3 years will attend Ball State University majoring in Education. Her parents are Carla & Jack Johnson
Moe Khatib, employed in Dining Services for 4 years, attends Indiana University majoring in Environmental Management. His parents are Yusra & Kareem Khatib.
Emily McGuire, employed in Dining Services for 4 years, attends Ball State University majoring in History and Women’s Studies. Her parents are Amy & Rob McGuire.
Maggie Meyer, employed in Dining Services for 6 years, attends Valparaiso University majoring in Finance. Her parents are Janet & Mark Meyer.
Jackie Nowicki, employed in Home Healthy for 5 years attends Purdue University majoring in Physical Therapy. Her parents are Todd & Shannon Nowicki, and Frank & Donna Stern.
