Pines Village Celebration Center AV Guide 

Use this guide to connect a laptop and use the projector, microphones, sound system, and internet in the Celebration Center.

Before You Begin

  • Bring a fully charged laptop with an HDMI port or an adapter

Celebration Center Media Kit

All media equipment is stored in the AV Room inside the:
Celebration Center Media Kit

  • Projector remote control

  • HDMI cable

  • USB-C to HDMI/Ethernet adapter

  • Microphones

  • Ethernet cable

  • Spare batteries

Outside groups may be responsible for replacing missing or damaged equipment.

Laptop Setup

  • Turn on the laptop, adjust the volume, open the presentation, video, etc., before turning on the projector

  • In your laptop’s settings, set the display mode to: Duplicate or Mirror Screen


There are two HDMI access points in the Celebration Center:

  • Back of the stage wall

  • Wooden column at the back of the room

    • Ethernet Port for wired internet connection

Connect:

  1. The HDMI cable to the laptop

  2. The other end of the HDMI cord to the wall or column HDMI outlet

  3. Ensure all connections are fully inserted and level.

    Sound issues are often resolved by restarting your laptop and plugging the HDMI cable back in.

Operating the Projector

Ceiling Screen
The screen control switch is located near the door beside the light switches.

To operate the screen:

  • Press the switch:

o   Down to lower the screen

o   Up to retract the screen

Turning on the Projector

 

  • Press the power button on:

    • The projector remote, or

    • The projector itself

  • The remote is located in the Celebration Center Media Kit

o   Allow the projector a moment to detect the laptop source

Sound System Setup

Turning on Audio

The HDMI connection carries both video and audio from the laptop.

To enable the sound system:

  • Turn on the sound system in the AV Room

    • The red power button should light up

    • The blue power button by the master dial should also light up

  • Ensure that the Master volume is turned up.

  • Set the volume controls, make sure the device(s) you are using are turned up, and turn the others down.

    • #1: Ear Microphone

    • #2: Lapel Microphone

    • #3: Handheld Microphone

    • #6: CD

    • #7: Radio

    • #8: Projector/Computer

Internet Connection

Wi-Fi

Guest Wi-Fi is available throughout the Celebration Center.
Network Password: PinesGuest101

Wired Internet
If you’re having issues connecting to Wi-Fi:

  1. Use the Ethernet cable from the Celebration Center Media Kit

  2. Connect it to:

    • The laptop (you may need to use the USB-C adapter)

    • The Ethernet outlet is located on the back column

Troubleshooting

No Picture on Screen

  • Ensure that HDMI connections are fully inserted and level

  • Confirm the laptop display is set to Duplicate/Mirror

  • Restart your computer and try inserting the HDMI cable again.

No Sound

  • Verify the sound system is powered on, and the master volume is turned up

  • Check the appropriate output dial (HH, Lapel, or Computer) and adjust as needed by turning up the outputs you’re using and turning down the outputs you’re not using

  • Check that the laptop volume is not muted and turn it up if necessary

  • Turn up the wall-mounted master volume dial near the HDMI outlet

Projector Not Detecting Laptop

  • Turn off the projector, wait one minute, and turn it back on

  • Ensure that HDMI connections are fully inserted and level

After the Program

  1. Turn off the projector using the remote or the projector power button

  2. Retract the ceiling screen

  3. Disconnect all cables, and coil them neatly

  4. Return all equipment to the Celebration Center Media Kit

  5. Turn off the sound system

  6. Close the door to the AV room

  7. Report missing or damaged items to marketing@pinesvillage.org
