Documentary photographer, Aimee Tomasek, unveils her new portfolio entitled, "Helianthus: Benevolent Mischief" at The Village Gallery on Sunday, November 5. The solo exhibit features photographs capturing the playfulness, complexity and beauty of Sunflowers (Helianthus). The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.
Her projects visually address social and cultural relationships between industry and regionalism along with the more personal institutions such as faith, ethnic foundations and a sense of community. A Wisconsin native, Aimee earned a BA at the University of Wisconsin and her MFA at the University of Kentucky and is currently an Associate Professor of Art and the Art Department Chair at Valparaiso University.
The exhibit will be on display through December 7.
