Meet the Artist Reception
Date: Sunday, December 17
Time: 1:30 p.m.
Taking inspiration from the painters of the Hudson River School, the Impressionists and Post-Impressionists, oil painter Terry Walsh has built upon his artistic craft for over 40 years. Having made his living exclusively as an artist, he rarely worked in only one aspect of the art business, but usually two or three at a time. Painting on canvas has always been Terry's way of retaining a connection to art that is not ruled by the mechanics of commercial applications.
For the first two decades of his career, his paintings were heavily influenced by his love for Dali and was a variety of surrealism and symbolism, usually acrylic on canvas. For the last decades, Terry has been painting landscapes in oil, occasionally a still life, or a hybrid of the two, influenced by his love of Michigan's woods and waters that was fostered in his youth.
Terry will speak at the Meet the Artist Reception on Sunday, December 17 at 1:30 p.m. The exhibit will be on display through January 18, 2018. The Village Gallery is open to the public Monday - Friday from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm.
