In the tradition of the old masters, Dana Dabagia’s oil paintings will be on exhibit at The Village Gallery. Kicking off the solo exhibit, Dana will be featured at the Meet the Artist Reception on Sunday, June 4 beginning at 1:30 p.m. The reception and exhibit are free and open to the public. The exhibit will be on display through July 10.
Growing up in Crown Point, Indiana, Dana’s first memories of the world of art began as she watched her artist father draw. She recalls being mesmerized as each stroke brought to life a moment in time. Her professional career in the hospitality industry took her to Denver, Colorado where she developed her own artistic identity through the Arts Students League of Denver. Through the years, Dana explored different mediums with her odyssey in oils beginning in 2000.
Whether it's a painting of a face, flower, vista, or still life, Dana paints with an eye for detail, always exploring their exquisite beauty. Her interpretations of seemingly familiar things, allows the viewer to respond to such ordinary things in a more meaningful way.
Currently residing in northwest Indiana, just a stone's throw from Lake Michigan, Dana is busy taking portrait commissions of children and adults. Engagement with her clients allows Dana to paint them in the traditional manner while revealing not just an image, “but their inner beauty, their souls”. Dana is an active member of the Southern Shore Art Association. To learn more visit www.danadabagia.com.
