Have you ever wondered how meteorologists determine tomorrow’s temperature or how much rain will fall over the next two days? Join Kevin Goebbert, Associate Professor of Meteorology, as he gives an overview of the variety of tools and techniques Meteorologists use to develop forecasts.
Professor Goebbert joined the Valparaiso University faculty in Fall 2009. He has taught a wide range of courses for undergraduates primarily focusing on large-scale weather phenomenon and technology-driven courses, including synoptic meteorology and forecasting, numerical weather prediction, and meteorological computer applications. His research interests vary across the meteorological scales of motion, from turbulence to synoptic frontal systems to global climate change, as well as the scholarship of teaching and learning.
Valpo Hour is monthly education series that is made possible by Valparaiso University featuring professors that discuss topics within their expertise.
