ElderStyle Valparaiso is a public-private partnership formed in 2007 between the Valparaiso Department of Parks and Recreation and Pines Village Retirement Communities. This partnership represents a commitment to combine efforts to support healthy living and create a network of community choices that will enable older adults to live well.

The ElderStyle Initiative engages many sectors — city departments, service providers, businesses, health care professionals, nonprofit organizations, and faith communities — to build a network and to leverage local resources to create a vibrant and healthy environment for older persons in our community.

Over the past year, the ElderStyle Task Force has worked to develop a strategic plan. This document describes how, over the next five years, the opportunities and challenges created by Valparaiso’s rapidly growing population of older adults will be addressed.
