ElderStyle Valparaiso

ElderStyle Valparaiso

ElderStyle Valparaiso is a public-private partnership formed in 2007 between the Valparaiso Department of Parks and Recreation and Pines Village Retirement Communities. This partnership represents a commitment to combine efforts to support healthy living and create a network of community choices that will enable older adults to live well.

The ElderStyle Initiative engages many sectors — city departments, service providers, businesses, health care professionals, nonprofit organizations, and faith communities — to build a network and to leverage local resources to create a vibrant and healthy environment for older persons in our community.

The ElderStyle Task Force has worked to develop a strategic plan. This document describes how, over the next five years, the opportunities and challenges created by Valparaiso’s rapidly growing population of older adults will be addressed.

The ElderStyle Strategic Plan is rooted in the strong culture of volunteerism, collaboration, and cooperation that defines the Valparaiso community. For additional information, call 465-1591.
